As its name indicates this software applications is designed to convert PDF (Portable Format document) documents into well known Word format (.doc file extension). A good thing about PDF2Word Converter is that it does this in a pretty straightforward process, really easy-to-learn and fast. Important aspects when you have to choose a tool of its kind.
The simplicity has its own cost of course and in this particular case it's not the price (less than 20 dollars a license) as much as the low flexibility and options you have available on the conversion process.
A single main window shows you all you need to see. Let's take a look on how it works.
On the top section of the window we encounter the Select area. From here all what we do is to select the source PDF document – via a Browse button and a pop-up window – and the “Save to” location where the new Word document will be created. The save to option also has a Browse button and a pop-up window where you choose the location.
Going down, on the left, we find the Layout area. Here you'll see a list of options that controls the document conversion, and that is pretty much all you can choose. The list is the following:

Following: Extract text, columns, tables and images, retaining format
Continous: Pick out text, columns, tables and images with format
Exact: Get content using text boxes in Microsoft Word
Formatted text: Take out text, columns and tables, retaining format
Plain text: Obtain text without format
Images: Pull out images

On the righ of this area we find the Pages area letting you choose wether you want to convert all the pages on the source document or to define a selection.
All we have left is the Save file format list containing .doc and .rtf options and the Retain Hyperlink check box (not available in Plain text and Images layouts). There's also an “Open document for editing after conversion” checkbox.

A strong side is that it supports many languages for the users interface, not with a very good translation quality though. The language can be selected from the options window wich is pretty much the same that the main window. You can select an users interface style as well from Office 2000, Office 2002 and Office 2003 options.
